Do you like having fun?

Larkfield cubs is the place for fun and adventure, with action packed programmes,
district events and an active group, there is no time to be bored!

I run a pack of around 30 with a high amount of girls who love mucking in. I have a
supportive team of adult helpers and parents who like to join in. We attend District
events, such as Swimming gala and District football and also our own Group
activities for example bag packing and joint wide game evenings.

Our cubs are always working towards badges and I encourage badge work at home
too. Many of my cubs achieve Silver Scout Award, the highest award in cubs. The
Silver Scout Award involves gaining 6 challenge badges which does take a long
time but is usually gained by the time a cub reaches 10 years of age.

We have 7 challenge badges and 33 activity badges, which keep us busy and
evenings are based around completing the requirements. This means we can get
messy in the kitchen, put patrol tents up in the field, play wide games or even a fish
and chip hike.

We take an active part in the community, cubs attend Larkfield Holy Trinity family
services once a month and support fetes and fairs in the local area. We have visited
local churches, the fire station and have visits from the Police and PCSO.

Cub camps are also a highlight and very popular among them, at 8 years old this can
be the first time in a tent. We can never predict the weather but we can guarantee
they will have the time of their lives. At Quest 05 the cubs got the chance to do
archery, canoeing, apache driving, clay oven cooking, climbing and much more.
Larkfield Scout Group also has an annual family camp at the district camp site,
which can get parents to camp too.
